Returning to Tech After a Gap Year - As a Senior Software Engineer
The world is not going to pause and say "It's time to take your break. You deserved it."
I'm taking a gap year, and it hasn't been the best time but it was about time for me.
I leaned into my creative side: a wildflower, vegetable and herb garden, a whole wheat sandwich bread and jalapeno biscuits, perfected over a dozen imperfect batches, each one telling me what to fix in the next. And I kept building, because that's what I do: a lost pet app, a mood tracker app.
I'm a senior software engineer, and I'm intentionally making my way back to the workforce, going back to JavaScript and CSS fundamentals, the foundations underneath React, Node, and the frameworks I've relied on for years, to understand why the code works the way it does, not just that it does. Alongside that, I'm diving into building AI products.
Open to senior engineering roles, especially where I can work on building solutions end-to-end. If that's your team, let's talk.
